Kašna se sochou Záboje

Jejími autory jsou zdejší rodáci, sochaři František a Antonín Wagnerovi. Kašna se sochou Záboje byla odhalena na náměstí 29. září 1857 při oslavách 40. výročí nalezení Rukopisu královédvorského. V roce 1950 byla přemístěna na okraj města a v roce 2005 se vrátila na náměstí přesně na místo, kde dříve stávala.

Je alegorickou oslavou mateřského jazyka a češství. Záboj, postava z Rukopisu královédvorského, má na sobě staroslovanský kroj, je opásán mečem, pravou rukou se opírá o štít a levou rukou tiskne k srdci varyto (staročeský hudební nástroj). Stojí na skále, z níž prýští tři prameny vody, které jsou symbolem čistoty, zdraví a stálosti. Pod sochou ve skále je vytesáno jméno Záboj a o něco níže slova: „Ty mluvi k nim slovy oteckými,“ což naznačuje, že si máme českého jazyka vážit a zkulturňovat jej.

Its authors are the local natives and sculptors František Wagner and Antonín Wagner. The fountain with the Záboj statue was unveiled in the square on the occasion of the 40^th anniversary of discovering the Manuscript of Dvůr Králové. In 1950 it was moved to the outskirts of the town and in 2005 it was returned to the square, exactly where it once stood.

It is an allegorical celebration of the mother tongue and allegiance to Czech customs and aspirations. Záboj, a figure from the Manuscript of Dvůr Králové, wears old Slavic costume with a sword, his right hand leaning against the shield and with his left hand he presses the varyto (old Czech musical instrument) to his heart. He stands on a rock from which three springs of water flow symbolizing purity, health and stability. Below the statue in the rock the name of Záboj is carved and a little below are the words: “Ty mluvi k nim slovy oteckými.” This indicates that we should regard the Czech language and cultivate it.

Seine Schöpfer sind hiesige Landsleute – die Bildhauer František und Antonín Wagner. Der Brunnen mit der Záboj-Statue wurde am Marktplatz am 29. September 1857 bei der Feier zum 40. Jahrestag von der Entdeckung der Königinhofer Handschrift enthüllt. Im Jahre 1950 wurde sie an den Stadtrand übertragen und 2005 kehrte sie auf den Marktplatz genau auf die Stelle zurück, wo sie früher stand.

Sie ist eine Allegorie der Muttersprache und des tschechischen Nationalbewusstseins. Záboj, eine Gestalt aus der Königinhofer Handschrift, ist in einer altslawischen Tracht gekleidet, mit einem Schwert am Gürtel, die rechte Hand stützt er am Wappen und mit der linken Hand drückt er ein altes tschechische Musikinstrument (sog. Varyto) ans Herz. Er steht auf einem Fels, woraus von drei Stellen Wasser hervorquillt, was ein Symbol der Reinheit, Gesundheit und Beständigkeit bedeutet. Unter der Skulptur sind im Fels der Name Záboj und etwas tiefer die Worte: „Ty mluví k nim slovy oteckými“ („Sie sprechen zu ihnen mit väterlichen Worten“), was andeutet, dass wir die tschechische Sprache schätzen und weiter kultivieren sollen.
